Another avalanche occurred at the ski resort in Tinges, France this morning. This is the second avalanche another avalanche occurred last month at the same ski resort and killed 4 people. Luckily no one was killed this time even though the avalanche passed through a blue intermediate slope that is popular for families. Some people were buried by the avalanche but they were rescued. The avalanche risk posted that morning was a 4 out 5.
An earthquake of 5.6 to 5.8 magnitude struck Uttarakhand, India last night at 17:03 UTC (10:33 pm in India). So far no causalities have been reported and there is minimal property damage. The earthquake last for 30 seconds at a depth of at least 14 Km. Sources for the magnitude of the earthquake disagree. The USGS says it was a 5.6 magnitude, but all the news sources say it was a magnitude 5.8. Sources also do not agree on the depth of the earthquake.
